First, you have to make sure that you have 900 renown to get the clan tier 4 as it will allow you to start a new kingdom which is when the real politics and army starts the game. To get this, you need to join a kingdom, then find the leader of that kingdom, and offer yourself as a mercenary.

After that, take place in that kingdom and get a little bit of renown. Make sure that you have aligned with one of the factions, as a mercenary, or as a vassal. Then you have to wait until they declare war.  On your map, the green color shows your supporter and the red color shows your enemies.

Then you have to find a location where you can hide in a big city or town because as a mercenary, you have only got around 100 to 150 troops. With this, you can't form an army until you get a kingdom. Then send your troops to your allies where they are fighting for you. You have to keep doing this for a few hours as it will give you a lot of money and also it will give you experience for your character and level up your troops. So that you will get the most renowned in the game.
